Founded in 1995 with a goal of providing the highest standard of specialized engineering and project management services for underwater construction and maintenance projects, Mallin was hired in 1997 to manage the construction of a marine fibre optic telecommunications system (FOTS) from Vancouver, BC to Seattle via Victoria.
That project led to the establishment of a marine group in Vancouver, first within Ledcor Industries Ltd, then WorldWide Fibre, and finally 360networks. That marine group was responsible for a variety of Fibre-Optic Transmission Systems (FOTS), including the trans-Atlantic Hibernia system and the GlobeNet system to Brazil.
The consultants working through Mallin represent the core of that marine group, and are now recognized throughout North America and internationally as leaders in specifying, contracting, permitting, and in managing the implementation and maintenance of subsea cable systems of all types and all sizes.
